Micro-markets in the Greater Phoenix Valley

Make your break room a desert oasis.

Fresh food, popular snacks and cold drinks on open shelves, with a self-checkout kiosk instead of a coin slot. Southwest Refreshments has been serving Valley break areas since 1989, on our own routes. Start with one market or build the whole room.

More on micro-markets

Three things worth understanding first.

Open any card to see what it covers, then follow it through to the full page. If you are not sure a market fits your room, tell us your headcount and we will come look at the space.

Subsidized micro-markets

Discount refreshments for your team, or cover them outright. You set the budget and we build the room around it.

Micro-market benefits

What changes when the machines come out: selection, payment, the room itself and what your team thinks of it.

Self-checkout kiosk and camera coverage securing a workplace micro-market

Micro-market security

Open shelving with encrypted payment, an enclosed kiosk and cameras recording around the clock.

Built around your workplace

What changes for your kind of site.

The same market gets put together differently depending on the building and the shift. Open the closest match.

Desk-bound teams use the break room in two bursts, arrival and midday. An open market with fresh food in the cooler covers the lunch hour without anyone leaving the building, and the coffee sits beside it.

Rooms we service

What it looks like in place.

A few of the markets Southwest Refreshments designs, installs and keeps stocked across the Valley.

How it works

Four steps to get started.

From the first call to a break room your team actually uses.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about the workplace

Headcount, shifts, and what is in the break room now. Two minutes on the form, or one call to the Valley office.

  2. Step 2

We come out and meet you

We look at the space, check power and the network, and talk through what your team actually eats and drinks.

  3. Step 3

    You get a recommendation

The layout we recommend for your room, the fixtures that fit, and the product list. On paper before you decide.

  4. Step 4

We install and keep it stocked

Installed at no cost, then restocked from your real sales data rather than a fixed calendar.

Before you ask

Questions about micro-markets

You do not need to know the exact equipment or product list before reaching out.

How is a micro-market different from vending?

Nothing sits behind glass. People pick an item up, read the label and decide, then scan it at the kiosk. That opens the room to hundreds of products including fresh food, which a coil machine cannot carry.

How do people pay?

Cash, credit and debit cards, mobile wallets, or a market account. The account is also how employers fund a subsidy or an allowance.

How much space do we need?

Less than most people expect. A micro-market can go into a room that previously held two machines, and it scales up from there. What matters is available wall space, power and a network connection.

Who keeps it stocked?

We do. Each kiosk reports sales back to our warehouse, so restocking follows what actually sold rather than a fixed calendar. Nobody on your side counts inventory or handles money.

What about theft?

Shrink on an open market runs low, and it is our risk rather than yours. Cameras record around the clock, the kiosk is fully enclosed, and if a site does have trouble we adjust the layout or move to a locking cooler.

Do you serve our part of the Valley?
