Micro-market security

Open concept, still secure.

An open market is the first question most people ask about, and it is a fair one. Here is exactly what protects the room, the payment and the data.

What you get

Some shrink is normal, and it is our risk.

A small amount of loss is part of running an open market, and it is priced into how we operate. It is our problem rather than yours, and in practice it stays low because a workplace is not a public space and people know each other. If a site does have a persistent problem we change the layout or move to a cooler that locks.

  • Encrypted card and mobile payment at the self-serve kiosk.
  • Cameras recording 24 hours a day with a time-stamped feed.
  • A fully enclosed kiosk with no exposed access points.
  • Cloud inventory that surfaces a discrepancy quickly.

Before you ask

Questions about security

Who carries the loss if something walks?

We do. Shrink is our risk, not yours, and it is already accounted for in how the market is priced. You will not get an invoice for it.

Do the cameras record our employees?

They cover the market area and record a time-stamped feed, which is reviewed only if there is a specific issue. If your site has a policy on workplace recording, tell us on the walkthrough and we will work within it.

Is card data stored on the kiosk?

No. Transactions are encrypted and processed through the payment system. The kiosk itself is enclosed with no exposed access points.

What if an open market is not right for our space?

Then we would not put one in. A lobby, a public-facing area or an unsupervised site is usually better served by a cooler that unlocks with a card and charges for what comes out.
